Did you know that you need to wash fruit and vegetables
after buying them at the store? No, that apple I had looked pretty clean
to me! Why do you have to? Lots of people touch it before you buy it.
You know all the people in the field that pick it. They
probably have no place to go to the bathroom and probably can’t
wash their hands. Yeah just think about what makes fruits and vegetables
grow- manure! Yikes that’s
got lots of bacteria.
So you really need to wash it before you eat it. You know
go through that hand washing routine. Then use running
water to clean the fruit. Sometimes you even need a
scrub brush for things like potatoes - they actually grow in the dirt
itself. And yeah make sure you cut out any bad spots – bacteria
really like those places and grow like crazy!!
